Maharashtrian Thalipeeth


A nutritious pancake made with 3 type of flours. The iron and folic acid content of the recipe is high and will help you supplement your needs during the first trimester.

Cook time - Under 5 mins
Serves - 3-4

Ingredients
3 tbsp besan (Bengal gram flour),3 tbsp jowar (white millet), flour3 tbsp gehun ka atta(whole wheat flour), 1 small onion, 1 chopped tomato, 2 chopped tbsp coriander, 2 finely chopped green chilies, salt to taste

Other ingredients :1 tbsp til (sesame seeds) , 2 tsp oil for cooking

Method
  1. Mix together all the ingredients in a bowl and add enough water to make a thick batter.
  2. Heat and grease a non-stick tava (griddle).
  3. Spread a layer of the batter to form a pancake of 4 mm. (1/6") thickness and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.
  4. Cook on both sides till it turns to golden brown, using a little oil.
  5. Serve hot with curd/butter/green chili coriander chutney.

Tips
  1. You can add any flour that is in your kitchen like bajra flour, rice flour, nachni flour, etc. to make thalipeeth.
